Upcoming Hospice Volunteer Training
Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey is in need of Volunteers to support our hospice patients & families. Our mission is to provide physical, emotional, social & spiritual support for our terminally ill patients & their loved ones before, during & after death.
Providing care for a dying patient in the home requires great strength, sensitivity & respect for individuality. Our Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of making this all possible. Volunteer duties may include, but are not limited to: providing respite for caregivers; running errands; providing companionship & emotional support.
The VNANNJ is currently enrolling Volunteers in our FREE fall training. Classes will be held Monday evenings from October 6th through October 27th and will be conducted at our Morristown office from 5pm-8:30pm. Dinner is provided. This 17-hour training will prepare applicants to effectively assist the terminally ill and their family members. Applicants should be available to serve the Morris County area and offer a minimum of two hours/week.
If you have the time to give, the heart to share and the desire to help, please contact the VNANNJ Volunteer Coordinator at (973)451-4120 or jdoherty@vnannj.org.
